Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance

The global objective of this call for proposals is to strengthen participatory democracy and support North Macedonia’s EU accession by empowering civil society and media organisations to engage in policymaking, sector reforms, and enhancing freedom of speech, digital technology use, and to reinforce systems to prevent and respond to gender-based and domestic violence.

Lot 1:

• be a legal person and
• be non-profitmaking and
• be a specific type of organisation such as civil society organisation and non-governmental organisation as defined by Article 159(1) of the EU Financial Regulation and
• be effectively established in the Republic of North Macedonia or in a Member State of the European Union or in another IPA III beneficiary country, at least three (3) years before this call is launched, and
• be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary, and
• not being in any of the situations listed in Section 2.4. of the practical guide, and
• be an organisation whose aims and objectives declared in its statute or other official document establishing the organisation are focussed in the relevant priority sector/s of this call.

Lot 2:

• be a legal person and
• be non-profitmaking and
• be a specific type of organisation such as: civil society organisation, non-governmental organisation public sector operator, local authority, international (inter-governmental) as defined by Article 159(1) of the EU Financial Regulation and
• be effectively established in the Republic of North Macedonia or in a Member State of the European Union or in another IPA III beneficiary country, at least three (3) years before this call is launched, and
• be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary, and
• not being in any of the situations listed in Section 2.4. of the practical guide, and
• be an organisation whose aims and objectives declared in its statute or other official document establishing the organisation are focussed in the relevant priority sector/s of this call.

Co-applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to the lead applicant himself.
