The past year has been marked by cooperation, engagement and joint action, with civil society organisations at the centre of the Civil Society Resource Centre’s activities—regularly sharing information, strengthening CSOs’ capacities, and supporting processes relevant to the development of civil society. Throughout the year, the Civil Society Resource Centre achieved significant results through numerous activities implemented for and with the civil society organisations.
We fostered civic activism and participation through 13 information events, consultation meetings and debates on various topics relevant to the development of civil society, with a total of 384 participants. These activities provided space for dialogue, exchange of views and consultations between civil society organisations, state institutions and other stakeholders. We supported the consultation process for the new Government Strategy for Cooperation with and Development of Civil Society 2025–2028 and contributed to better informing organisations about the selection of members of the Council for Cooperation between the Government and Civil Society.
We continued supporting local organisations through six visits of the Mobile Resource Centre in Kruševo, Valandovo, Demir Kapija, Bitola, Jegunovce and Kočani, with the participation of 82 representatives of local organisations, activists and other stakeholders. These visits ensured direct field support and exchange of information and experiences, contributing to strengthened capacities and improved access to resources at the local level.
We strengthened the capacities of civil society organisations through six training sessions covering key organisational areas such as volunteering, digital transformation, administrative operations, data collection using the KoboToolbox tool, digital social innovations, and monitoring, evaluation and learning at the organisational level, with a total of 165 participants. In addition, 64 mentoring sessions were delivered on topics including digitalisation, Erasmus+, volunteering, organisational development, good governance, transparency and accountability, providing targeted and tailored support in line with the specific needs of organisations.
We awarded 11 grants to support the 2025 Local Elections, aimed at strengthening organisations in their active participation and engagement for inclusive, transparent and accountable local elections. In 2025, 28 local organisations implemented action grants for local initiatives addressing various challenges faced by their target groups.
We prepared two analyses—“Government Mirror: Annual Report on Monitoring ENER in 2024” and “Implementation of the Government Strategy for Cooperation with and Development of Civil Society 2022–2024”—as well as 12 monthly overviews of ENER monitoring, 35 weekly updates on draft laws published on ENER, and 12 monthly overviews of funding opportunities for civil society organisations. These activities enabled timely access to information and supported organisations in participating in evidence-based policymaking processes.
In 2025, the Civil Society Resource Centre continued to develop and promote digital self-assessment tools for civil society organisations. A new online tool for self-assessment of transparency, accountability and good governance—“Mirror of Civil Society Organisations”—was developed, while the existing online tool for organisational capacity self-assessment has so far been completed by a total of 318 organisations, providing valuable insights into organisational development needs.
We provided regular support through advice and consultations to more than 350 organisations and citizens in 2025. This support was complemented by the platform for supporting local organisations through resource centres in the Skopje, Polog and Eastern regions, as well as regional civil society experts for the Pelagonija and South-West planning regions, ensuring accessible and tailored support at the local level.
We regularly informed civil society organisations through a mailing list of 9,536 email addresses, through which more than 250 relevant updates were shared in 2025. These included funding opportunities, events and other content important for the work and development of civil society organisations.
We provided space in Skopje, Gostivar and Štip for civil society organisations to implement their activities. During the year, a total of 167 events were organised by other organisations at the Civil Society Resource Centre in Skopje and over 200 events at the resource centres in Gostivar and Štip. By offering this space, the Civil Society Resource Centre supported organisations in the timely and effective implementation of their activities and initiatives. The Zoom platform was used by organisations for more than 50 online events.
In 2025, the Civil Society Resource Centre further enhanced its digital tools to support civil society organisations. Within the Online Academy for Civil Society Organisations, one new topic was recorded and published, focusing on monitoring, evaluation and learning at the organisational level. In addition, the online tool for tracking and promoting civil society advocacy initiatives was updated with six advocacy initiatives.
In 2025, the Civil Society Resource Centre also strengthened its online presence through its website, email communication and social media. The website recorded 79,395 views across 49,432 visits from over 25,000 users, with the most visited content being funding opportunity overviews and calls for grants. Communication via the mailing list and Facebook further contributed to increased visibility and engagement. In 2025, 43 news items were published on the website, while 190 posts were shared on Facebook, through which the Civil Society Resource Centre communicated with 4,013 followers.
