CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The overall objective of this Call for proposals is to contribute to the strengthening of democracy in Republic of North Macedonia through improved electoral process with a focus on its enhanced transparency, credibility and inclusiveness.

The specific objective of this Call for proposals is to strengthen civil society organisations in their active participation and engagement for inclusive, transparent, and accountable local elections with focus on women’s participation, youth and inclusion of marginalised groups. In the light of the upcoming 2025 Local Elections in the country, this Call for proposals aims to support initiatives that strengthen democratic practices and promote fair and inclusive electoral processes with civil society involvement in the election observations.

Action Grants for Supporting Local Elections 2025

The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for proposals is EUR 110,000.

Eleven grants are foreseen to be awarded under this Call for proposals. Any grant requested under this Call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:

  • minimum amount: EUR 9,000
  • maximum amount: EUR 10,000

Organisations that submit applications under this Call for proposals are not obliged to provide co-funding. The grant shall cover all eligible costs of the action (100%) as deemed essential to carry it out.

Duration of an action may not be lower than 9 months nor exceed 12 months.

Deadline for application for this Call for proposals is 10th April 2025, by 17:00 (Macedonian time)

Required documents

  • Grant Application form (Macedonian language)
  • Annex 1: Budget with justification (1а. Budget and 1b. Budget justification)
  • Annex 2. Legal status of the applicant and co-applicant (if any). Proof for the legal status is the Current status issued by the Central Register, not older than six months, counting back from the date of application submission. Scanned versions are also accepted.
  • Annex 3. Scanned Statement from the applicant (duly completed and signed by his legal representative – Point 7 of the Grant Application Form: Statement of the organisation – Applicant).
  • Annex 4. Scanned Mandate(s) from the co-applicant(s) (if any) (duly filled in and signed by their legal representative(s) – Point 8 of the Grant Application Form: Mandate of the organisation- Co-applicant)
  • Annex 5. Annual narrative and financial report for the applicant and co-applicant(s) (if any) for the last two years (2023 and 2024).
