World NGO Day is a tribute to the dedication of millions of civil society activists worldwide, with special recognition of the vital role that nonprofit and non-governmental organisations play in building a healthier, safer, more just and fair world.
This day provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the invaluable work NGOs do and to inspire support for their efforts. It is a time to honor the determined dedication of these organisations and their supporters as they fill critical service-provision gaps, advocate for vulnerable communities, and respond to crises where governments or private entities may be unable or unwilling to act.
As we celebrate this day, let us also acknowledge the challenges NGOs face. They often face financial constraints, political obstacles, and a lack of recognition. Therefore, engagement is very important—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply raising awareness, we all, as individuals and organisations, have a role to play in supporting their relentless efforts and their mission to improve lives worldwide.
The Civic Resource Centre remains committed to promoting active participation in the civil society and strengthening collaboration between civil society, public institutions, and the private sector. By advocating for human rights and advancing sustainable development, we send a clear message: the work of NGOs not only benefits the communities they serve but also contributes to global stability and security.
