"Through its regional expert for the Vardar region, the Civic Resource Centre (CRC) will create new opportunities to support civil society organisations in Kavadarci"—this was the general conclusion drawn from the visit conducted as part of the Mobile Resource Centre in Kavadarci on June 10, 2026.
During the visit of the Mobile Resource Center to Kavadarci, local organisations and activists were informed about current developments regarding civil society at both local and national levels, opportunities for funding and capacity building for civil society organisations, the services offered by the Civic Resource Center, the EU agenda, and other topics relevant to the operations of local organisations. The Mobile Resource Center aims to bring the Civic Resource Center closer to local organisations across various municipalities and regions, and to discuss the needs and challenges these organisations face in their work.
At the event, attendees had the opportunity to meet and speak directly with Gjorgji Nanchev—a regional expert from the Civic Resource Centre for the Vardar Planning Region and a long-time civil society activist from Kavadarci—who will be working with civil society organisations in the region in the coming period, providing advisory and mentoring support for their development and activities.

Some of the attendees expressed their satisfaction with the opportunities for cooperation with the regional expert for the Vardar Planning Region and with the CRC in general: "We warmly welcome the initiative regarding the work of the CRC and their regional expert in Kavadarci; it represents a significant step toward strengthening the civil society sector, fostering active citizenship, and advancing local development. We believe that establishing cooperation between the CRC and the NGO Center in Kavadarci will create new opportunities to support civil society organisations. We particularly emphasize the importance of organising training sessions on preparing for and applying to national and international calls for proposals, as well as active networking and experience sharing; we believe these activities will contribute to greater awareness, better connectivity among organisations, and more successful utilization of available funding and development opportunities for local initiatives. We look forward to the successful implementation of many activities that benefit the citizens and the local community," stated Ordanche Boshkovski-Boshka, Coordinator of the NGO Center Kavadarci.
Furthermore, some of the attendees shared the challenges they face in their operations—primarily regarding financial constraints—and expressed hope that the GRC’s activities, particularly the overview of funding opportunities for civil society organisations (CSOs), would help them overcome these hurdles. Blaže Levovski from the CSO "Eko Turist-Bošavija" in Kavadarci shared several ideas regarding the association's work, noting that securing funding for such activities had previously been difficult; however, he stated, "We believe that regularly monitoring the CRC’s overview of funding opportunities will help us overcome these challenges, especially with the support we expect from the CRC regional expert for the Vardar Planning Region."

"We are a new, young organisation, and we believe that all the support we heard the GRC offers here will be beneficial to us," added Biljana Jankova from SOS Children's Village, Kavadarci Counseling Center.
Municipal representatives also attended the meeting and expressed their satisfaction with the visit of the Mobile Resource Center to the municipality: "The Mobile Resource Center is of great importance to the Municipality of Kavadarci at this time, especially considering the role of the regional expert assigned to our area, who is set to reach the organisations directly—providing them with necessary information, education, and training, as well as assistance with networking," said Sasho Moshev from the Department for Local Economic Development of the Municipality of Kavadarci.
The municipal administration maintains regular cooperation with non-governmental organisations. As part of the Municipality of Kavadarci’s commitment to transparent operations and the continuous improvement of communication with citizens and civil society organisations, the municipality updated its database of civil society organisations to ensure timely notification regarding upcoming events and activities. The municipality awards funding to non-governmental organisations through public calls and also publicly announces the results regarding the allocated financial resources, the results of the evaluation of project proposals from the public call (ReLOaD3), etc., and issues specific calls for financial support for sports clubs and associations.
The municipality has an Equal Opportunities Commission and a Gender Equality Strategy (2024–2027), as well as a Local Youth Council and a Local Youth Strategy (2025–2029).
The visit of the Mobile Resource Center was organised within the project "EU Support to the Civil Society Resource Centre – Phase 2," funded by the European Union and implemented by the National Civil Society Development Foundation Civic Resource Centre, the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), Media Plus (Štip), and the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) (Gostivar).
