We have the honor to invite you to the debate “Strengthening the Cooperation between the Government and Civil Society”, which will be held on 4th September 2024 (Wednesday), starting at 10 a.m. in the premises of the Civic Resource Center, Skopje.
A developed civil society contributes to the strengthening of democratic values and encourages civil awareness. In order for civil society organisations (CSOs) to respond effectively to social challenges and the needs of citizens, functional cooperation with the Government and the institutions is necessary. The implementation of the fourth Strategy of the Government for cooperation with and development of civil society (2022-2024) is underway, which should provide a conducive and sustainable environment for the smooth operation and independent actions of CSOs. Only such organisations contribute to the strengthening of democratic governance, reflect the interests and needs of citizens and engage in structural dialogue.
The event would encourage a discussion on the Strategy implementation, the functioning of the Council for Cooperation between the Government and Civil Society, the state funding for CSOs and other relevant issues. The conclusions of the debate will focus on the next necessary steps and activities important for strengthening the cooperation between the Government and CSOs.
The debate would gather representatives of the civil society organisations, state institutions, the donor community and other relevant stakeholders.
