The first Local Youth Assembly is formed in Kruševo — a historic step that will allow young people to directly participate in creating local policies. For the first time, amendments to the Statute of the municipality were adopted and a Local Youth Assembly was formed.
This initiative is part of the project "Youth are the voice of change in municipalities", funded by the European Union and implemented by the Youth Council Prilep Association in partnership with the Youth Association Empowering Kruševo.
The project aims to strengthen local democracy through active citizenship and social inclusion of young people in local processes. This goal is already becoming a reality through the increased participation and influence of young people in decision-making.

Over 160 young people from Prilep and Krushevo participated in workshops on youth participation and activism, gaining knowledge and skills in accordance with the Law on Youth Participation and Youth Policies.
The municipality paved the way for youth participation with changes to the Statute and preparation of the first public call for a Youth Council. The project assisted the process by providing administrative and technical support for the implementation of the procedures of the Law, including advocacy for the opening of the public call as well as support in the preparation of the documents for the call.
These activities represent an important step towards institutionalizing youth participation and open new opportunities for young people to be active actors in the creation of local policies.
These activities are just the beginning of a larger goal — for young people to be real actors in the development of their municipalities.
“Youth are the voice of change in municipalities” is a project implemented by the Youth Council Prilep Association in partnership with the Youth Association Empowering Kruševo. This project is a sub-grant received within the "EU Support to the Civil Society Resource Centre - Phase 2" funded by the European Union.
