Fair Spending for Fair Elections: Monitoring Municipal Public Procurement in the Election Year

To contribute to greater transparency and accountability in local government by monitoring municipal public procurement expenditures during the election year, thereby reducing opportunities for misuse of public funds to gain electoral advantage.

R1: Improved transparency through monitoring and reporting on spending trends in municipal public procurement, reducing opportunities for misuse during elections.

R2: Increased public awareness through better information for citizens and media on public procurement expenditures during the election year, leading to stronger public oversight and accountability.

R3: Greater media engagement through media reports and coverage of findings on procurement trends, contributing to balanced, fact-based discussions on election-year spending.

R4: Enhanced accountability toward vulnerable groups through assessment of whether increased procurement improves living and working conditions for women, youth, and marginalized communities, thus improving the responsible allocation of public funds.
