On September 18, 2025, a public promotion of the research "We See Everything! - Transparency and Accountability of Local Authorities", implemented by the Association for Development and Activism "Aqua", was held in Struga. The event brought together representatives of civil society organisations and institutions who discussed together the challenges and opportunities for improving local governance.
The event presented the results of the analysis of the work of the Struga Municipality Council and its committees. The focus was on transparency, accountability and the level of citizen involvement in decision-making processes. The discussion on the role of the Commission for Equal Opportunities and the Commission for Inter-Community Relations, which play a significant role in building inclusive local policies, attracted particular attention.

Key findings from the research:
- There is a need to increase openness and timely publication of information by the Council and the committees.
- The Commission for Inter-Community Relations has insufficient functionality and lacks public visibility.
- There are positive examples in the work of the Commission for Equal Opportunities, but consistent implementation is lacking.
The analysis is available at the following link.
The reactions from the participants confirmed that there is a strong need for increased transparency and better access of citizens to information. The conclusion of the event was clear: citizen monitoring is a key mechanism for improving local governance, and further cooperation between the municipality, civil society organisations and the community is necessary for building more open and accountable institutions.
