Veles Biking through a new strategy to greater promotion of cycling

22 Oct 2019

The association Veles Biking, under the mentorship of the Center for Economic Analysis (CEA), held its second strategic planning workshop on 17th October 2019, as part of the partnership grant awarded by the Civil Society Resource Center.

During the meeting, at a brainstorming session representatives of the organisation identified strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats. It was a continuation of the activities from the first meeting when they identified the vision, the mission, strategic goals and objectives of the association.

“Veles Biking has many strengths, but they are not visible enough in public. There are plenty of opportunities at our disposal, but the key downside is that many members do not have enough time to devote to the organisation” said Nikola Angelov, a member of the association.

The organisation believes that the workshop is of great importance because it has set the key strategic directions that include promoting a healthy lifestyle and the use of cycling to improve and promote tourism in the country.

This activity is part of the project “Enhanced Capacity of Local Grassroots Leaders for Rapid Tourism Development”, implemented by Veles Biking in partnership with the Center for Economic Analysis (CEA). This project is awarded under the EU-funded program “National Resource Center for Civil Society Organisations” implemented by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI), Gostivar and Media Plus, Stip.
