The Civil Society Resource Centre organised three tailor-made trainings for strategic positioning of four organisations: Women Organization of the Municipality of Bitola, Equinox Scout Stip, Volunteer Youth Engagement Association – Pelister Bitola and Sveti Nikole Voluntary Fire Fighting Association. Each mentor worked individually with one organisation. This focused their individual needs, and the participants worked together to strengthen their own association.
The workshops were held in Skopje, Bitola and Stip from July 26 to August 1, 2019 and were attended by 22 representatives from the four organisations. The workshops were conducted by the mentors Suncica Sazdovska, Valentina Atanasovska and Dragana Mitrovic.
“Volunteers – Pelister is a newly established organisation whose members have shown great enthusiasm. The workshop will benefit them because they have the capacity, the ability to make progress and just need someone to guide them through the process of preparing the basic organisational documents” said mentor Valentina Atanasovska.
Participants were tasked to identify the life cycle stage of their organisation based on the organisation’s history from its establishment to the present and learned how to cope with the challenges it faces. In addition, the associations formulated or adjusted their vision and mission, and also defined the strategic priorities of the organisation by analysing and prioritising the organisation’s services and products.
Participants rated these tailored trainings as very useful and productive, and asked for such trainings to be organised more frequently in the future. The main benefit was the opportunity for more members of an organization to work together with a mentor.
The workshops are part of the activities of the Civil Society Resource Centre, a project funded by the European Union and implemented by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation in partnership with the Association for Democratic Initiatives from Gostivar and Media Plus from Stip.
