Greater access to funds, more available information on how to ensure funds, greater visibility of the results and the ongoing activities are part of the priority needs pointed out by CSOs’ activists from Strumica during the meeting with the team of the Mobile Resource Centre, held in the premises of the organisation “Izbor”.
They think that through their greater presence in the media it will be easier for them to increase their visibility, especially among young people, who would approach them as their members or volunteers. In addition, Strumica CSOs reacted to the concentration, the greater opportunities and the influence of the organisations located and established in Skopje and called for greater decentralization.
During the meeting, the Mobile Resource Centre team presented their activities, which are fully aimed at reviving the civil society through several types of assistance, including trainings. A special emphasis at the end of the meeting was given to the promotion and visibility of project activities of CSOs that implement EU-funded projects.
During the visit to Strumica, the representatives of the resource centers in Skopje and Shtip also met with Toni Milushev, Head of the Department for Local Economic Development of the Municipality of Strumica. The conclusion is that the cooperation between the municipality and the civil society is necessary for community development.
The purpose of these meetings is to hear the needs of the organisations for their better action in the community. At the same time, the purpose is to inform the local and grass-root organisations about the work of the Civil Society Resource Centre.
Such meetings are foreseen in several municipalities under the Civil Society Resource Centre, an EU-funded project implemented by Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation in partnership with Media Plus, Shtip and Association for Democratic Initiatives, Gostivar.
