At the training on thematic networking, partnerships and coalitions, 17 CSOs’ representatives were introduced to the possibilities for cooperation in the civil society, partnership building with organisations, companies and public institutions, as well as various methods, techniques and tools for communication, strengthening partnership relations and coalition building. The training was held on 27-28 February, within the capacity building programme of the Civil Society Resource Centre.
During the training, attention was particularly devoted to distinguishing the terms networks, partnerships and coalitions. In addition to the theoretical part, the participants had the opportunity through practical exercises to acquire techniques for mapping potential partners, measuring the successfulness of coalitions and partnerships, as well as to assess their own social capital that could be utilized for partnership building. Although they had different expectations, they all acquired useful knowledge that they could use to improve their operation.
The participants pointed out the practical exercises and the complementarity of the themes as the most useful parts of the training. Most of them said that they will share the knowledge and the materials with colleagues from their organisation, and one of the participants will use the lesson learned to establish a social enterprise and create a network of associates.
This was the last of the first training cycle organised by the Civil Society Resource Center, an EU-funded project implemented by Macedonian Center for International Cooperation in partnership with Association for Democratic Initiatives from Gostivar and Media Plus from Stip.
