The Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), within the EU-funded project “National Resource Center for Civil Society Organisations”, supported the Ministry of Information Society and Administration (MISA) in the implementation of the four thematic meetings on 26th, 29th and 30th of March and the 2nd of April in the EU Info-Centre. These meetings were focused on open government partnership and cover the themes: transparency and accountability; the prevention of corruption and the promotion of good governance; effective public services and good governance at local level; and democratic media environment and media freedoms.
One hundred and two citizens – representatives of CSOs and state institutions participated at these meetings. They had an opportunity to discuss together the measures and the activities that could be included in the fourth national action plan for Open Government Partnership 2018-2020. At the meetings, it was emphasized that through the unity of the CSOs and the state institutions, the efforts and the financial resources will be joined for successful implementation of the proposed measures. It was also emphasized that there is a need for a stronger partnership between the government institutions and the civil society not only in the development of the action plan but also in its implementation.
The reports from the thematic meetings, including the discussed and the proposed measures and activities, have been sent to the MISA and will be taken into account for the new Open Government Partnership Action Plan 2018-2020.
The National Resource Centre for Civil Society Organisations is EU-funded project implemented by MCIC in partnership with Media Plus from Shtip and Association for Democratic Initiatives, ADI from Gostivar.
