The Civic Resource Centre (CRC) continues to strengthen civil society organisations. This time, the focus was on project planning and writing project proposals. The workshop on this topic was held on 26-27 October 2023 in Skopje. It was a follow-up activity to the online Training on the same topic, which was a condition for participation in the workshop.
Participants were able to increase knowledge and skills in project idea development and project planning, problem analysis, goal analysis and project strategy selection, logical framework approach, logic of intervention, indicators for checking project success, assumptions and risks. They also acquired knowledge about the allocation of resources for the planned activities and the preparation of a budget for the project. Through the practical exercises, the participants gained knowledge about filling out the application form and connecting it to the logical framework.
„The workshop was a great opportunity for us, civil society activists, to learn something new and enrich our practical skills in developing and writing project applications. It was a well-executed interactive training in which we could, through conversation and discussion among ourselves, but also with our trainers, go through the process of writing a project proposal” said Jordanche Josifov from the Association for the support of palliative patients and their families PALIUM from Skopje.
After the workshop, mentoring activities will be conducted with the trained organisations, which will ensure that the expected results are finalized.
„At this two-day workshop I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of project management and its application in civil society organisations. We all learned new things, but also refreshed what we already knew. I hope that this workshop will help us prepare projects and secure financing that will improve the lives of our beneficiaries” said Dimitar Ilcov, from the Association of Citizens LJUBEZNOST from Skopje
Delfina Sazdovska from Megjashi appealed to all those interested to get out of their comfort zone, learn and start using these tools practically. “Wonderful and useful experience” which helped her to develop her knowledge on this topic. “I think that everyone involved in any CSO should follow this training. In addition to the chance for practicing the use of the well-known tools, I also had the chance to network with other participants, which I believe will help me in future cooperation in the sector” – said Delfina Sazdovska from Megjashi.
The CSOs’ interest in strengthening their capacities in this area was very great. At the public call for participation in the workshop, 100 CSOs’ representatives applied, of them, 19 participants were selected for this workshop. In the period November 2023-February 2024, CRC will conduct three more workshops on this topic.
The workshop was organised within the project “EU support of the Civil Society Resource Centre – Phase 2”, financed by the European Union, and implemented by the National Civil Society Development Foundation – Civic Resource Centre, the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation, Media Plus, Shtip and Association for Democratic Initiatives – ADI, Gostivar.
