CSOs and informal groups to be proactively involved in the preparation of local policies, was one of the main recommendations of the debate “Participation of CSOs in rural areas and cooperation with local administration”. It was organized at the meeting of Mobile Resource Center with the organisations in Tearce on 11th February 2019.
The discussion included 10 participants who stressed the need to strengthen mutual solidarity and networking of formal and informal organisations at the local level.
One of the main challenges they face is the lack of using different ways of consultation and cooperation between local institutions and the civil society sector. In addition, the population is not sufficiently aware of the impact of organised forms on improving the overall life in rural areas, for which it is necessary to strengthen their knowledge and skills.
Cooperation with the business sector and access to funds in rural areas is also a field of interest for organisations in this region. Hence, the main recommendation from the meeting was greater cooperation of the organisations in the area.
The Civil Society Resource Centre is a project funded by the European Union and implemented by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation in partnership with the Association for Democratic Initiatives from Gostivar and Media Plus from Shtip.
